Circling back to the community

Dear Reader,

I hope you were bathed in sunshine and love this summer.

Autumn and the start of the new school year are always fast-paced and stimulating times. I try to put the brakes on to slow down, enjoy the moment and watch the weather change with the same summer nonchalance. However, winter is approaching... and so are the holidays!

Stay tuned to my next post for more news on that front.

But for now, I leave you with an invitation to East End Music Fest a fundraiser for Applegrove which will take place on Saturday, October 19. I'm proud to support this organization, which helped me when I first moved to Toronto over 10 years ago. Therefore, I am happy to have Circular Networks 4 at their silent auction among those of other talented artists.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Take care,

carolina

Dear Reader, I am so excited to present the biggest immersive textile art installation I have made so far! It is the second version of Over Connections. Made with yarn and triple the scale than the previous one, it is meant to give a tangible and embodied experience of interconnectivity both as an extension of our physical abilities and as a constriction of our physical life. More than a visual piece of art, this installation is made for visitors to touch, feel and wear, their presence being...

Dear Reader, Something I have been working on for over six months and haven't shared at all - there is only so much one can do - is the building of a new version of Over Connections, a fully immersive multi-sensorial knitted sculptural installation. This is going to be the largest installation I have brought to life so far! I am so excited to bring this piece to life and have people interact with it. I want to acknowledge that this would not have been possible without Zia Foley who diligently...
